INTERNATIONAL RESEARCH CONFERENCE 2026 WRAPS UP SUCCESSFULLY AT VICTORIA FALLS

2 April 2026 – Bulawayo Polytechnic and Welwitchia University marked a triumphant close to the International Research Conference 2026, held from 31 March to 1 April at the stunning Victoria Falls Safari Lodge, Zimbabwe. Under the theme Industrialising Futures: Integrating Skills, Digital Innovation and Technology in Sustainable TVET, the event united over 20 universities across Africa and partners from China.

Delegates enjoyed oral presentations of cutting-edge abstracts, interactive breakout sessions, and vibrant discussions on transforming TVET for sustainable growth. The conference launched with official opening remarks from Professor F. Tagwira, Permanent Secretary of Zimbabwe’s Ministry of Higher and Tertiary Education, Innovation, Science and Technology Development. Hosts Engineer Chiedza Masanganise, Principal of Bulawayo Polytechnic, and Professor Marius Hedimbi, Vice Chancellor of Welwitchia University, delivered inspiring welcoming addresses.

Highlights included breakthrough policy recommendations, new cross-border research collaborations, and strategies for embedding digital tools in skills training. “This gathering ignited real momentum for Africa’s industrial future,” noted Engineer Masanganise. Echoed Prof. Hedimbi: “Our partnerships will drive innovation in TVET for generations.”
