WELWITCHIA UNIVERSITY OPENS APPLICATIONS FOR NEW DIGITAL ARTS SHORT COURSES

Applications are now open for our new Digital Arts Short Courses for 2027, offering practical, industry-relevant training in animation, motion graphics, graphic design and visual communication.

The University will offer two six-month programmes: the Certificate in Animation & Motion Graphics and the Certificate in Graphic Design & Visual Communication. Both programmes combine hands-on, project-based learning with portfolio development to prepare students for opportunities in the creative and digital economy.

The Certificate in Animation & Motion Graphics covers animation fundamentals, digital 2D animation, motion graphics, animation production and portfolio development. The Certificate in Graphic Design & Visual Communication focuses on graphic design, typography, digital design, branding, visual communication and professional design practice.
Each programme includes 36 contact hours and is limited to a maximum of 15 students per intake, allowing for focused, practical training. Two intakes will be offered per programme. The programme fee is N$15,000 per student.

Applicants should have a Grade 12/NSSC qualification or equivalent, basic computer literacy, and an interest in digital design, creativity and visual communication. Relevant work experience or prior training in design, media, ICT or related fields will be an advantage. Mature-age applicants may be considered in line with the University’s admission requirements. No previous professional experience in digital arts is required.
